Practice
The office is two desks, a drying rack, and a window that looks onto salt grass. Most of the work happens outside.
Method
We walk a stretch of shore with a notebook and a cheap compass. Distances are paced. Landmarks are named only if a local already uses the name. The first drawing is always too large; the second one usually holds.
Materials
Walnut ink, a hard pencil, and paper that can take rain. Charts are printed in small batches and left to dry overnight. Nothing here is automated.
Visits
If you want to see the archive, write ahead. We do not keep a public calendar and we do not sell subscriptions. Finished sheets are collected in the studio until they are collected by someone who will actually use them.
